Holds a Diploma in Social Work (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Social Work (Distinction) from the University of Guyana and a Master of Arts in Gender and Development from the University of Sussex. She joined the faculty in 2007 and served previously as the Head of the Gender Studies Unit and Coordinator of the Master of Social Work Programme. She was the recipient of the Canadian/ CARICOM Faculty Leadership Fellowship and a Fellowship with the York University that led to the development of the Master of Social Work Program.
