Holds a Diploma in Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Sociology from the University of Guyana and a Masters in Social Work from the Dalhousie University. She joined the Department of Sociology in 1989 and has served as Coordinator of the Women Studies Unit, Coordinator of the Diploma in Social Work and Head of the Department of Sociology. She also lectures in the Division of Social Sciences at the University of Guyana Tain Campus. Prior to joining the faculty she served as a Teacher at the President’s College.
